Mannheim, Germany- Daimler Truck Holding AG., has delivered three new all-electric Mercedes-Benz eCitaro solo buses to Racktours GmbH & Co. KG, marking the company's entry into battery-electric public transport operations. The vehicles were officially handed over by Sinisa Ristic, Sales Mercedes-Benz Buses at Daimler Buses, to Racktours Managing Director Benjamin Elsner, Operations Manager Robert Wiebel, Senior Owner Uwe Viel, and Christian Schädler, Head of Operations, Quality & Customer Management.

With this delivery, Racktours becomes one of the first privately operated bus companies in Hessen to deploy Mercedes-Benz electric buses in scheduled passenger services. The company selected the eCitaro based on its efficiency, operational reliability, sustainability benefits, and the extensive service and support network offered by Daimler Buses.

The new electric buses will operate in the Main-Kinzig district under contracts managed by KVG Main-Kinzig mbH. Racktours has purchased more than 21 buses from Daimler Buses over the past five years, primarily Mercedes-Benz models, making these eCitaro units the company's first battery-electric vehicles.

The buses are equipped with the latest generation NMC 4 high-voltage battery technology. Two vehicles feature five battery packs with a total energy capacity of 555 kWh, while the third bus is fitted with six battery packs, providing a maximum capacity of 666 kWh to support extended operating ranges.

To enhance safety and passenger comfort, the vehicles are fitted with a comprehensive suite of advanced technologies, including the digital MirrorCam system, rearview camera, full interior video monitoring, Sideguard Assist 2, Frontguard Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, and Attention Assist 2 with infrared camera technology. Each bus also features dual charging interfaces positioned above the front service flap and above the right front axle for operational flexibility.

The new Mercedes-Benz eCitaro buses are finished in a distinctive green exterior livery complemented by blue passenger seat upholstery, reflecting Racktours' commitment to sustainable and modern public transportation services.
