New- Delhi- Delhi flagged off 500 new electric buses and launched the Delhi–Panipat bus service, expanding public transport options in the National Capital. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said Delhi’s total bus fleet has crossed 4,000, and the government aims to increase it to 14,000 buses by 2028. She added that a new electric vehicle policy will be introduced soon to accelerate clean and environmentally friendly mobility.

Delhi Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said the Delhi–Panipat route marks the resumption of inter-state bus services after an 18-year gap, offering greater convenience for passengers travelling to neighbouring states.

The event was organised to mark the completion of one year of the Delhi Government. The administration said it will continue holding programmes and inaugurating initiatives until the 2nd of next month and will release a one-year report card on the 21st of this month, to be showcased through door-to-door outreach.
