Kirriemuir, Scotland – Delson Contracts Ltd., a construction firm, has added a Liebherr PR 716 G8 Crawler Dozer to its fleet, supporting a new private housing and high-specification industrial development near Kirriemuir, north of Dundee.
Established in 1990, the company operates across recycled aggregates, civil engineering, demolition, and design-and-build services, delivering technically demanding projects across the region. Its growing Liebherr fleet now includes two A 910 Compact wheeled excavators, an A 914 Compact wheeled excavator, an R 922 crawler excavator, and the new PR 716 G8.
Mr. Bruce Stott, Managing Director, said, “The move toward Liebherr equipment followed positive experience with earlier machines, citing reliability and strong aftersales support as key factors. Delson follows a long-term ownership strategy, prioritising durability and consistent performance.”
At the Kirriemuir site, the PR 716 G8 is being used for material spreading and ground level adjustments. Operator Ben Cummings highlighted its smooth operation, strong pushing power, and precise grading control.
The PR 716 G8 has an operating weight between 13.3 and 15.8 tonnes and is powered by a 145 hp (107 kW), 4.5-litre diesel engine paired with Liebherr’s hydrostatic travel drive, delivering fuel efficiency of around 9.3 litres per hour. Delson specified the machine in low ground pressure configuration with a six-way PAT blade, prepared for Trimble Earthworks machine control.
With operator-focused cab design, advanced grading assistance systems, and service-friendly access points, the PR 716 G8 is expected to become a valuable long-term addition to Delson Contracts’ fleet.
