Develon Launches Log Loader and Road Builder Excavators

Georgia, USA - Doosan Infracore North America LLC., (Develon) a construction equipment manufacturer, has introduced the first models in its next-generation -7 Series of forestry-focused excavators, starting with the DX225LL-7 Log Loader and the DX225RB-7 Road Builder. These specialized machines are designed for timber loading and road construction in challenging logging environments. More models in the series are expected to follow.

The DX225LL-7 and DX225RB-7 are built to boost efficiency, offering increased horsepower, quicker cycle times, and greater lifting capabilities. Both models are powered by a 162-horsepower Develon DL06P diesel engine, with dual hydraulic pumps delivering 56 gallons per minute each.

Develon has increased swing torque to allow smoother handling of heavy loads, even when operating on slopes. A fine-swing function reduces shaking during lifts for better control and safety. Operators can also activate a hydraulic power boost using a button on the right-hand joystick for extra force when needed.

Four selectable power modes let operators match engine and hydraulic performance to the task. An auto-shutdown timer, adjustable from 3 to 60 minutes, helps reduce unnecessary idling.

The -7 Series excavators come equipped with rugged features tailored for forestry work, including heavy-duty side doors, quarter-inch-thick side panels, and guards over key components like the hydraulic pump and cooling system. A fully guarded, high-and-wide undercarriage increases ground clearance, making it easier to navigate over stumps and debris.

For the log loader, a 4-foot cab riser gives operators an elevated view during loading tasks. Both front and top guards offer extra protection, and the entire cab tilts 90 degrees for easier transport.

Inside the cab, the heated air-suspension seat adapts to the operator’s weight and height. It includes adjustable headrests and armrests, joystick controls that move with the seat, and an optional four-point seatbelt for added safety.
