South Dakota, USA - Diamond Mowers, LLC., a heavy-duty attachments manufacturer, has launched a redesigned Mid-Mount Boom Mower, featuring a narrower profile, enhanced operator control, and improved uptime for municipal and commercial roadside maintenance. The mower is suitable for a range of applications, including highway shoulders, ditch lines, utility corridors, and park perimeters, with boom lengths of 21, 22, 23, 25, or 30 feet. Its folding boom improves visibility and clearance during transport.
The redesign includes a compact footprint, achieved by repositioning the hydraulic tank to the front left of the cab and adding an axle stabilizer. This reduces the need for counterweights and minimizes lane encroachment, allowing the mower to operate safely closer to traffic. “This upgrade gives crews more confidence when working near traffic or in confined roadside corridors,” said Nate Cleveringa, VP of engineering and product management at Diamond Mowers.
Operators now benefit from enhanced control and diagnostics through upgraded excavator-quality components, including a new IBC joystick and Smart Screen interface. The system allows real-time adjustment of boom responsiveness and joystick sensitivity, with customizable speed settings for open areas or tight work zones. Fleet managers can also limit access to advanced controls for less experienced operators.
Built-in safeguards include a hydraulic drive disengage option to reduce wear, fuel consumption, and heat buildup, along with an emergency stop button on the joystick for instant shutdown.
With these upgrades, Diamond Mowers’ Mid-Mount Boom Mower combines precision, safety, and productivity, setting a new benchmark for roadside maintenance operations.
