Chennai – Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd (DICV) of Oragadam, near Chennai, a subsidiary of Germany’s Daimler AG, has launched its new Tractor Trailer variant under Bharat Benz brand 5528TT¹.

Rajaram Krishnamurthy, Vice President Marketing & Sales and Customer Services, DICV Ltd, said, “Our new BharatBenz 55 tonner sets higher benchmarks for the tractor trailer segment with improved revenue, fuel efficiency, safety and connectivity. The unique axle configuration allows it to carry loads far above competitors in the same grade. Customers will rethink their traditional buying decisions once they see the TCO this vehicle offers.”

¹5528T tractor-trailer comes with a Gross Vehicle Weight of 55T is powered with OM 926 engine with maximum power 210kW (281hp) @ 2200 rpm, maximum torque of 1120 Nm @ 1200-1600 rpm which is matched with 9F+1R gearbox (G 131) with mechanical synchromesh gears and single dry plate, hydraulic control with a clutch booster with 430 mm diameter. The Chassis length of 6.9m, 3.9m wheelbase is fitted with Parabolic Type Leaf Spring with 2 Hydraulic Shock Absorbers at front and inverted semi-elliptic tandem bogie suspension at rear.
