Chennai- Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV)., has announced that Mr. Satyakam Arya, Managing Director & CEO, has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Hino Motors, effective April 1, 2026. Based in Tokyo, Japan, Satyakam will lead Hino Motors’ global operations and transformation as part of the planned integration of Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino Motors a landmark collaboration between Daimler Truck and Toyota Motor Corporation.

Under Satyakam’s stewardship, DICV recorded unprecedented profitability growth across its trucks and buses portfolio, while doubling its customer base across all business segments. The company’s retail and service network expanded from 182 to more than 385 touchpoints nationwide, strengthening BharatBenz’s presence across India.
On the sustainability front, DICV became India’s first commercial vehicle manufacturer to operate entirely on renewable energy and achieved the country’s first IGBC Green Factory Building V2 certification, setting new benchmarks for environmental responsibility in the industry.
Innovation also thrived under his leadership. DICV introduced EU safety standard ECE R29-03 compliant cabins, launched pioneering products like TorqShift (AMT) tippers and the HX Series, and ensured a smooth transition to BS VI OBD2 standards. These technical milestones were complemented by progressive Diversity & Inclusion initiatives that reinforced a culture of collaboration and excellence.
At the cultural level, Satyakam championed “The BharatBenz Way”, strengthening DICV’s Total Quality Management (TQM) journey and fostering a culture centered on innovation, customer-centricity, and partnership across the value chain.
