Date: November 5, 2024Portland, United States- Daimler Truck North America LLC., (DTNA), a manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty trucks in North America, has advanced its commitment to decarbonizing logistics by launching its first battery-electric Freightliner eCascadia at its Detroit Diesel Corporation (Detroit) subsidiary in Redford, Michigan.
The Freightliner eCascadia will join DTNA’s operations at the Detroit Logistics Center in Livonia, transporting essential parts between Detroit’s offsite warehouse and the Redford plant. Operated by Load One LLC, a trusted DTNA partner since 2018, the eCascadia is well-suited for the consistent route and payload, offering a range of 220 miles and recharging at the logistics center.

Detroit, a key player in North American powertrain technology for commercial vehicles, is integral to DTNA’s manufacturing, covering 38 acres with 3.2 million square feet of production space. Employing nearly 2,800 people across manufacturing, R&D, and support, the facility runs high-volume, multi-shift operations, including producing the eCascadia’s electric powertrain used in Detroit’s logistics operations with Load One.
