      New Delhi- Eastman Auto & Power Ltd., has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vande Bharat E-Vehicles to supply lithium-ion batteries valued at ₹50 crore annually. This strategic alliance aims to accelerate India’s transition to sustainable mobility by equipping electric three-wheelers with advanced battery technology.

      Under the partnership, Eastman will provide lithium-ion battery solutions to power Vande Bharat’s fleet of electric rickshaws, catering primarily to commercial drivers and fleet operators across India. The collaboration focuses on making electric mobility more affordable and accessible for last-mile transportation, furthering India’s push toward cleaner, greener alternatives.

      Established in 2006, Eastman Auto & Power Ltd is a leading provider of power solutions, specializing in last-mile e-mobility, solar energy systems, and energy storage. With a workforce of over 5,000 employees across eight manufacturing units in India, Eastman exports to more than 50 countries. It is also India’s largest manufacturer of solar tubular batteries, serving over 400 OEM partners through a network of 1,000 distributors and 3,300 service partners across 350 districts.

      Vande Bharat E-Vehicles, operated by Sahanianand E-Vehicles Pvt Ltd, is focused on manufacturing electric three-wheelers tailored for Indian conditions, including E-rickshaws, E-carts, and E-loaders. The company strongly aligns with the Government of India’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Make in India” initiatives.
