Pune- EKA Mobility., a manufacturer of electric buses and commercial vehicles, has entered into a landmark partnership with Kerchanshe Trading PLC, one of East Africa’s most diversified business groups, to establish distribution, assembly, and after-sales operations for its electric vehicles across the region.
The agreement was formalized at a ceremony in Dubai, where Dr. Sudhir Mehta, Founder and Chairman of EKA Mobility, and Dr. Israel Dejene, CEO and Chairman of Kerchanshe Trading PLC, signed the strategic partnership in the presence of senior executives from both companies.
EKA Mobility brings its proven expertise in electric buses, light commercial vehicles, and three-wheelers, supported by strong R&D capabilities and a rapidly expanding manufacturing base in India.
Kerchanshe Trading PLC, Ethiopia’s largest coffee exporter and a major player in the agriculture, construction, and automotive sectors, is recognized as one of East Africa’s most respected conglomerates with significant experience in industrial operations and vehicle assembly.
Through this collaboration, EKA and Kerchanshe aim to accelerate the adoption of clean and sustainable mobility solutions across East Africa. The roadmap includes setting up a local CKD (Completely Knocked Down) assembly plant for EKA vehicles in Ethiopia, launching distribution and service networks across the region, and introducing a comprehensive range of electric vehicles tailored to local market needs.
