Rajasthan- EKA Mobility., an electric vehicle and technology company, in partnership with Chartered Speed, has received a Letter of Award (LOA) to deploy 675 electric buses in Rajasthan as part of the Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme.
Under this initiative, the consortium will introduce 565 nine-meter and 110 twelve-meter fully electric buses across eight key cities: Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer, Alwar, Bikaner, Bhilwara, and Jodhpur. This move aims to enhance urban public transport infrastructure, reduce air pollution, and cut down on fossil fuel usage in the state.
The order is part of a larger national effort led by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), which recently issued a Letter of Confirmation of Quantity (LOCQ) for deploying electric buses across multiple states. The Rajasthan allocation is among the more significant state-level deployments under the scheme.
This development follows EKA Mobility's recent successes, including a contract worth ₹150 crore from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) and another valued at ₹400 crore from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. These projects further solidify EKA’s growing footprint in India’s electric public transport sector.
EKA Mobility, operated by Pinnacle Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd., is backed by global equity partners Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Japan) and VDL Groep (Netherlands). The company focuses on developing electric commercial vehicles through modular design and lean manufacturing, aiming to make electric mobility more scalable and cost-effective for cities across India.
