Sweden/ United States / Japan - With Epiroc (Sweden), Genesis Attachments (United States), and Kanamoto Co. Ltd. (Japan), an attachments manufacturers joining, the Open-S Alliance continues to strengthen its global presence. The growing support highlights expanding industry adoption of the Open-S standard for automatic quick couplers used in construction and demolition equipment. With nine new members joining in 2025, the alliance now includes 23 companies worldwide.
The Open-S standard enables compatibility between excavators and attachments from different manufacturers, improving flexibility, efficiency, and equipment utilization across job sites.
Mr. Predrag Petrovic, vice president business line hydraulic attachment tools at Epiroc, said, "By joining the Open-S Alliance, we reinforce our commitment to delivering open, compatible solutions that empower customer freedom of choice. Kanamoto, a major construction equipment rental company with around 810,000 assets across 1,100 equipment types, is promoting the use of Open-S-compatible attachments throughout Japan, Southeast Asia and Oceania. “We expect to create an environment where attachments can be used regardless of model or manufacturer, enhancing user convenience and operational efficiency,” said Jun Watanabe, board director and division manager, Construction Equipment Rental Division.
