Stockholm, Sweden – Epiroc AB., a mining equipment manufacturer, has unveiled the Minetruck MT33, a new underground haul truck that combines a compact profile with a high 33-tonne haulage capacity to deliver strong performance in medium-sized drifts. The new model brings advanced features typically found in larger mining trucks into a smaller and more agile design.
According to Prerna Devkar, Global Product Manager Minetruck – Small Segment at Epiroc’s Underground division, the truck’s robust build, low profile, automatic transmission, and high ramp speeds ensure efficient and reliable operation in demanding underground environments.
Developed from the proven Minetruck MT436B and backed by decades of underground mining experience, the Minetruck MT33 introduces key improvements in safety, productivity, and operator comfort. The truck was created in close collaboration with customers to meet real operational requirements.
Safety has been a central focus throughout the design. The Minetruck MT33 comes equipped with factory-fitted emergency stops, fail-safe braking systems, and integrated cameras, all aimed at maintaining safe and uninterrupted operations.
Durability and serviceability are also enhanced through strategic component placement that reduces wear and extends machine life. A smart PLC display improves access to performance data and supports faster diagnostics and maintenance. Additional functions such as engine delay shutdown and soft stop help protect critical systems and keep productivity high.
