New Zealand - Fendt Tractor., a brand of AGCO and an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has introduced its new 600 Vario series to the New Zealand market, setting a new benchmark in the 150–200 horsepower segment. Compact, agile, and powerful, the new 4-cylinder tractors are built to deliver top-tier performance with a low power-to-weight ratio and maximum versatility across applications.
The new series comprises four models: the 614, 616, 618, and 620 Vario, offering rated power outputs from 149 to 209 hp (ECE R120). A standout feature is Fendt Dynamic Performance, available for the first time on a 4-cylinder model. This intelligent system provides up to 15 additional horsepower on demand, regardless of speed or task. It responds dynamically, including during stationary PTO operations or under changing load conditions in tillage work.
The Fendt 600 Vario series is powered by a new 5-litre, 4-cylinder AGCO Power CORE50 engine that meets emissions standards using DOC, DPF, and SCR - without exhaust gas recirculation. Paired with the advanced Fendt VarioDrive transmission, it offers automatic front-rear axle control, ensuring optimal traction, smoother transitions, and improved manoeuvrability without manual switching.
The Fendt 600 Vario series stands out with its “pull-in-turn” feature for tight 10.2m turning, and the Fendt iD low-speed concept for fuel-efficient, high-torque performance. The 620 Vario offers a strong 34.4 kg/hp power-to-weight ratio and up to 13.5t GVW, with a 60-inch row crop version available. The VisioPlus cab provides top comfort and visibility, plus a cool/warm box. High-output hydraulics (205 l/min) support intensive work, and the tractor integrates smoothly with Fendt Cargo loaders, with lift heights up to 4.5m and optional 3L joystick control.
With the arrival of the Fendt 600 Vario series, New Zealand farmers now have access to a highly capable, efficient, and intelligent tractor platform tailored to modern agricultural demands.
