Middle East & Africa - Fiat Professional, the commercial vehicle division of Fiat SpA, (Fiat SpA is now a subsidiary of Stellantis, a multinational automaker formed from the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Groupe PSA) has officially introduced TRIS, its first three-wheeled electric vehicle, designed specifically to cater to the needs of urban last-mile delivery and micro-logistics. Built for compact city environments, developing economies, and small business owners, the new Fiat TRIS aims to be a game-changer in the electric utility vehicle segment.

With the growing global demand for clean, efficient, and affordable urban transport, the launch of TRIS marks a pivotal step in Fiat’s sustainability roadmap. The vehicle combines Fiat’s legacy of functional design with the practical needs of modern-day entrepreneurs — especially those operating in dense, traffic-heavy cities or cost-sensitive regions.

Mr. Olivier Francois, Fiat CEO, and Stellantis Global Chief Marketing Officer commented: “TRIS is more than just a new vehicle—it’s a breakthrough in how we think about urban mobility. Born from Italian creativity at the Centro Stile and engineered for the realities of daily life. As cities grow and the need for clean, accessible transport becomes more urgent, we saw an opportunity to offer something radically simple and profoundly useful. TRIS answers that call—providing independent workers, small businesses, and underserved communities with a cost-effective, zero-emissions tool to move forward. With its debut in the Middle East and Africa, TRIS is set to transform last-mile mobility and open new doors to economic empowerment and social inclusion. And we believe its potential goes far beyond—Europe may be next, because this kind of smart, sustainable solution speaks a universal language.”

Compact, Modular, and Built for Business

TRIS is engineered for maximum versatility, coming in three modular variants:

  • Flat Bed

  • Pick-Up

  • Chassis-Cabin

Each configuration supports different professional needs — from logistics and delivery services to mobile businesses and custom-built applications. The chassis-cabin variant, in particular, allows for bespoke upfitting, making TRIS a highly adaptable platform.

At just 3.17 meters in length, with a turning radius of 3.05 meters, TRIS can easily navigate narrow streets and tight spaces. Its cargo area supports up to 540 kg of payload and can hold a standard euro pallet, making it ideal for urban deliveries.

Zero Emissions, Low Running Costs

Powered by a 48-volt electric motor delivering 9 kW of peak power and 45 Nm of torque, TRIS reaches a top speed of 45 km/hoptimized for short-distance delivery in city traffic. Its 6.9 kWh lithium-ion battery (also used in the Fiat Topolino) offers a certified range of 90 km (WMTC). The vehicle can be charged using a standard home socket, with 0–80% charging in 3.5 hours and full charging in under 5 hours.

This zero-emission setup not only reduces environmental impact but also ensures low operational and maintenance costs, a critical factor for small business owners and delivery fleet operators.

Driver-Focused Design with Built-In Practicality

TRIS prioritizes comfort and simplicity with an intuitive, gearless drive and a spacious, ergonomic cabin. The dashboard features a 5.7-inch digital display, USB-C and 12V ports for device charging, and practical storage including a 3-liter glove box. Safety features include three-point seat belts, LED headlights, and a reverse buzzer, meeting EU homologation standards.

With bold LED front lighting and a uniquely Italian aesthetic, TRIS blends professional functionality with modern styling — making it stand out from typical utility vehicles.

A Strategic Bet on Emerging Markets and Inclusive Mobility

Fiat has chosen Morocco as the production hub for TRIS and is initially targeting MEA (Middle East and Africa) markets, where demand for affordable, efficient urban vehicles is growing rapidly. Through leasing and lease-to-own schemes, Fiat aims to make TRIS accessible to a wide range of users — from local delivery drivers to small-scale entrepreneurs.

The name “TRIS” reflects its three wheels, three configurations, and three-LED front lights, symbolizing modularity, balance, and global appeal.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Compact Commercial EVs

Fiat has hinted at connected services for TRIS in the near future, including fleet management tools and vehicle tracking, aligning with global trends in smart mobility and data-driven logistics.

As e-commerce, same-day delivery, and urban service models continue to grow, TRIS positions Fiat Professional as a serious player in the evolving landscape of electric urban utility vehicles.

With TRIS, Fiat isn't just selling a vehicle — it's offering a mobility solution for the modern professional: clean, compact, customizable, and cost-effective.
