Flexis has introduced 100% electric urban logistics vehicles, set for 2026, with 10 letters of intent from logistics providers like Colis Privé, HIVED, and DB Schenker. The company also offers fleet management services to boost efficiency and sustainability.
Date: February 3, 2025Lyon, France- Flexis S.A.S., a joint venture between Renault Group, Volvo Group, and CMA CGM, has unveiled its new generation of urban logistics solutions, set for commercialization in 2026. The company is focused on developing 100% electric, connected, urban-centric, and customizable vehicles built on a shared EV-native skateboard platform, featuring Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) electronic architecture. They also showcased their innovative embedded software and services designed to help logistics providers efficiently electrify fleets and tackle growing urban logistics challenges.
As Flexis moves into its industrialization and pre-commercialization phase, the company announced ten letters of intent with logistics providers across France, the UK, and Germany, potentially resulting in up to 15,000 vehicle orders over the next three years. Among these providers are Colis Privé (France), HIVED (UK), and DB Schenker (Germany), who will collaborate with Flexis to co-create tailored solutions that meet their operational needs and those of their subcontractors.
Mr. Philippe Divry, CEO of Flexis, said, “Our mission is to drive the electrification of urban logistics, helping the industry operate more sustainably, improve profitability, and enhance driver safety. Through co-creation with customers, we’ve developed a 100% electric, connected, customizable solution designed specifically for cities. Our deep understanding of electrification and efficiency has led to the first LOIs, showing the value of our approach. We’re proud to support Colis Privé, HIVED, and DB Schenker in meeting their sustainability and operational goals”.
Based on an EV-native skateboard platform with SDV electronic architecture developed in partnership with Ampere (Renault Group), Flexis has created a family of three fully electric, connected, urban-proof, and customizable vehicles. Designed for logistics, these vehicles feature low floor heights for easy loading, customizable interiors, high-capacity batteries with fast charging (80% in under 20 minutes), and a range of up to 450 km per charge. They also prioritize driver safety and comfort with ergonomic designs. Flexis has invested €350 million in development and entered the industrialization phase, with production set to begin mid-2026 at Renault’s Sandouville plant. Over 9,000 hours of driving have already been logged on 20 prototypes since March 2024.
The Step-In van features a unique silhouette in the medium van segment featuring front sliding doors and a rear shutter door for loading optimization; a first for the European market. The van features easy access between the cockpit and cargo areas with 1,90-meter height clearance allowing drivers to comfortably walk upright throughout the vehicle.
The cargo van vehicle is adapted to urban last-mile delivery needs and beyond with an easily convertible box, capable of integrating different widths, heights, and beds, as well as modular solutions including, but not limited to, refrigerated boxes.
The Panel Van features an urban-proof, multi-purpose design that overcomes the limitations of current market offerings. With exceptional manoeuvrability and an overall height of just 1.9m, it can easily access underground city parking and garages.
Flexis plans to sell its vehicles directly to logistics providers and fleet managers, while also supplying them to Renault Group and Renault Trucks for distribution under their own brands. In addition to the electric vehicle range, Flexis is developing B2B services to help logistics operators decarbonize and enhance efficiency. The fleet management solutions are built on an open platform, leveraging Software Defined Vehicle capabilities to seamlessly integrate with existing customer digital environments.
Flexis services are built around four key pillars: uptime management, operational efficiency, energy and charging infrastructure management, and financial services. These will be delivered through the "FlexE Connect" digital platform, existing service networks across Europe supported by Renault and Volvo Groups, and a Customer Operational Centre. The Centre offers a dedicated team of experts for real-time fleet monitoring, diagnostics, proactive recommendations, and personalized performance reports.
Mr. Pierre Sirolli, Head of Flexis Services and Solutions, said, Flexis is a strategic partner for urban logistics operators. Through the data connectivity of the Flexis vehicles and a team of experts, we offer personalized recommendations to improve our clients’ overall operations, offering solutions like delivery route optimization, significantly reducing vehicle breakdowns through preventive and predictive maintenance, securing the charging of the vehicles and with uninterrupted advisory support we create and implement actions to resolve any setbacks.
