Dearborn, United State- Ford Motor Company., an automobile manufacturer, has unveiled its F-150 Lightning SuperTruck EV demonstrator in camouflage for testing ahead of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Mr. Romain Dumas, the current record holder, will drive the truck during the event on June 23, 2024.

The Ford Performance Motorsports EV demonstrator, inspired by the F-150 Lightning and developed with STARD, achieves 6,000 lbs of downforce at 150 mph. This project advances electric powertrain research, with insights from Pikes Peak informing software and battery development for future vehicles and race programs.

In 2023, Ford's Electric SuperVan 4.2 set a new Open Class record at Pikes Peak with an 8:47.682 ET. The F-150 Lightning SuperTruck follows the high-performance Switchgear demonstrator, developed with RTR and revealed in January 2024. Switchgear, based on a production Lightning platform, features enhanced suspension, carbon composite panels, and skid plates to push the limits of EVs.

Ford Performance’s motorsport efforts reinforce our commitment and belief that harnessing the technology and expertise from our race vehicles helps elevate our entire lineup.
