Taipei, Taiwan- Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd., (Foxconn) a technology manufacturer and service provider, announced two new reference electric vehicles the MODEL D, a lifestyle multipurpose utility vehicle, and the MODEL U, a midi-sized electric bus.

Additionally, Foxtron Vehicle Technologies, Foxconn’s publicly listed subsidiary, showcased the first variant of the MODEL C aimed at automotive OEM customers in the North American market.

Mr. Young Liu, Chairman of Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn), “The latest models join a terrific line-up of EVs displaying our range and maturity in automotive development. The EVs going to market with our B2B customers are standing up to real tests in automotive endurance, safety and reliability.”

The MODEL D, designed as a Lifestyle Multipurpose Utility Vehicle (LMUV), merges the best features of SUVs and MPVs. Utilizing Foxconn’s latest platform technology, this multi-functional hybrid measures 5.2 meters in length with a 3.2-meter wheelbase, offering spacious and comfortable seating.

It features a pneumatic suspension system that enhances driving stability and allows for adjustable height between 15 mm and 25 mm. The body design includes S-ducts and air curtains that reduce wind resistance, achieving a low drag coefficient of 0.23. Developed in collaboration with the renowned Italian design house Pininfarina SpA, the MODEL D’s styling brings harmony to Foxconn's family of electric vehicles.

The MODEL U is a new midi-sized electric bus that carries forward the innovative design of Foxconn’s award-winning MODEL T, launched in 2021. Designed for narrow urban lanes and remote areas, it features a clean, simple look with large windows for enhanced flexibility and multi-functionality.

With a moderate body size, the interior can be customized to meet various needs. Its advanced electronic control and ADAS systems ensure a safer and more comfortable driving experience, while optimized body structure and aerodynamic design enhance its endurance

At Hon Hai Tech Day, the North American variant of the MODEL C was unveiled, with mass production slated for late 2025. This family SUV features a sleek, modern design with an expanded S-duct, updated styling, and a new user interface.

Originally launched in 2021, the MODEL C has become a top-selling EV in Taiwan under the Luxgen “n7” brand. In August, it made history as the first EV to compete in the 2,100 km Asia Cross Country Rally, Southeast Asia’s largest motorsport event.

The MODEL C showcases Foxconn’s Contract Design and Manufacturing Service (CDMS) model, allowing automotive OEMs to customize their vehicles using a modular platform that combines flexible hardware modules and software-defined EE architecture for continuous updates and improved user experience.
