North America – Franna., a brand of Terex Corporation and a carry cranes manufacturer, has introduced its most powerful pick-and-carry crane to the North American market, the AT44 US, marking a significant expansion of its crane lineup in the region.
Powered by a 308-horsepower Mercedes diesel engine, the AT44 US boasts a 44-ton lifting capacity at a 3-foot 7-inch radius and a maximum hook height of 62 feet. Its three-axle design allows the crane to self-transport additional counterweights, with the ability to raise the third axle while turning to reduce the turning radius. Operators can also articulate the crane while stationary, enabling precise load positioning on tight jobsites without the need for outriggers.
The crane features a full-width isolated cabin built to ASME B30.5 standards, offering enhanced operator comfort and visibility. Hydro-pneumatic suspension ensures smooth handling, while the high-strength 65-foot boom is designed for durability and simplified maintenance.
Franna has also equipped the AT44 US with advanced safety systems. The Dynamic Load Moment Indicator (LMI) with Safety Radar continuously calculates rated capacity in real time, accounting for boom configuration, chassis articulation, pitch, and roll. This provides operators with precise feedback on load limits even on uneven terrain, while the Safety Radar offers a visual display of capacity across the crane’s working zone.
The AT44 US joins Franna’s existing North American models, including the AT24 US introduced in 2023 and the more compact FR19 US launched earlier this year. Kevin Aabel, Business Development Manager for Franna North America, described the crane as “a game-changer for North American customers who demand higher lifting capacities without compromising mobility or safety.”
The launch of the AT44 US underscores Franna’s commitment to delivering powerful, versatile, and safe lifting solutions tailored for the North American market.
