Geely Officially Launches Starray EM-i PHEV SUV in Indonesia

Tangerang, Indonesia- Geely Auto Indonesia has officially launched the Geely Starray EM-i nationwide, marking its second model in the country and reinforcing the brand’s position in the growing plug-in hybrid SUV (PHEV) segment.

Locally assembled at Geely’s Purwakarta manufacturing facility since September 2025, the Starray EM-i adheres to global technology and safety standards, underscoring Geely’s long-term commitment to supporting Indonesia’s automotive industry.

Mr. Evin Ye, Vice President of Geely Auto International Corporation, said, “The Starray EM-i is the first PHEV built on our NEV platform, delivering dynamic performance and a modern driving experience. Following its launch in Australia last month, it represents a key step in Geely’s global expansion and will soon be available in nearly 20 markets across Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and Africa.”

The Starray EM-i combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, a 160 kW electric motor, an 18.4 kWh battery, and a 1DHT automatic transmission, achieving exceptional efficiency. It delivers fuel consumption equivalent to 83 km/liter, an electric-only range of up to 105 km, and a total range exceeding 1,000 km on a full tank and charge.

Its EM-i Super Hybrid system seamlessly transitions between three driving modes Pure, Hybrid, and Power balancing performance, comfort, and efficiency. With an engine thermal efficiency of 46.5%, the Starray EM-i offers strong performance while maximizing energy savings an ideal match for Indonesian driving conditions.

We achieved this through the optimization of both the engine and electric-drive systems, ensuring smooth and responsive power delivery.”

With its sleek, contemporary styling, the Starray EM-i features LED through-headlamps, LED taillights with rear fog lamps, and 18-inch alloy wheels that highlight its sporty character. Its award-winning design has been recognized by prestigious international honors such as the Red Dot Award, International Design Awards (IDA), Muse Design Awards, and A’ Design Award.

Available in a range of colors Twilight Gray, Snowy White, Pearl Silver, Marble Black, plus signature hues Supersonic Green and Bright Blue the Starray EM-i blends elegance with modern appeal.

Inside, the cabin offers premium materials and superior comfort, featuring an 8-layer “marshmallow” seat design for optimal ergonomics and a bridge-style center console for enhanced space and practicality. Ventilated front seats with memory functions, 256-color ambient lighting, and refined finishes create a sophisticated atmosphere.

The tech-forward interior includes a 15.4-inch central display, 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and the Flyme Auto infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. A 16-speaker Flyme Sound system with headrest speakers and subwoofer delivers an immersive audio experience.

The Starray EM-i features Level 2 ADAS with 14 active safety functions, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), and a 540-degree camera system, ensuring safer driving across diverse conditions.
