New Delhi – Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the policy of deregistration and scrapping of vehicles owned by government departments and PSUs1 (Public Service Undertakings), which are above 15-years in age. The mandate is to be notified and will come into effect from April 1, 2022.

1PSU - A state-owned enterprise in India is called a Public Sector Undertaking or a Public Sector Enterprise. These companies are owned by the union Government of India or one of the many state or territorial governments or both together in parts.
