The electric buses will serve two key BRT lines, Line 1is Connecting the future NEOMA Business School and ESAD campus in the Port Colbert district with the University of Reims Champagne Ardenne, the route will pass through the Reims central station and the “les Sacres” Lane, a major city center thoroughfare undergoing extensive redevelopment, and Line 2 is Connecting Reims central station with the town of Cormontreuil, this line will pass through the Châtillons district, which is also undergoing urban renewal.
The GX 437 ELEC LINIUM buses boast a range of features aimed at improving both passenger experience and environmental sustainability. Each 18-metre vehicle can accommodate up to 142 passengers, with a modern interior design emphasizing natural light through large windows and translucent knuckle bellows. Colored LED lighting allows for a dynamic and welcoming atmosphere, while passengers can also enjoy onboard USB ports and information screens for convenience.
To support these electric buses, Mobility will install 32 charging points at the Huet depot, ensuring it can accommodate future electric vehicles. The focus will be on creating user-friendly infrastructure that can adapt to changing network needs.
During the installation, Mobility will collaborate closely with Grand Reims services, consulting design offices, and the network operator to ensure safety and continuity of transport services.
Additionally, Mobility will implement Cway smart charging software, allowing the operator to optimize vehicle charging. This software will help manage the daily charging of multiple electric buses by planning schedules based on service times, vehicle specifications, weather, and electricity costs. Together, the charging infrastructure and Cway software will ensure efficient load management, maximizing the benefits of the new GX 437 ELEC LINIUM buses while achieving energy savings.
