New Delhi - GreenLine Mobility Solutions Ltd., a part of Essar's Green Mobility initiative, has partnered with Exide Industries Ltd., a battery manufacturer, to integrate LNG-powered trucks into Exide's logistics operations. This collaboration aims to support Exide in building a more sustainable supply chain.
The partnership will see GreenLine LNG-powered fleet deployed, designed to minimize environmental impact while ensuring efficiency and reliability in long-haul transportation. These trucks feature real-time vehicle monitoring, predictive analytics, and safety enhancements. With a range of up to 1,200 km per tank, they offer a practical and sustainable alternative to diesel-powered trucks.
The adoption of LNG-powered trucks will assist Exide Industries in significantly reducing Scope 3 emissions, which are linked to logistics and supply chain activities. This collaboration highlights Exide’s dedication to sustainability, ensuring that eco-friendly practices are integrated into its operations, while still maintaining the efficiency and performance of its supply chain.
Mr. Anand Mimani, CEO of GreenLine Mobility Solutions Ltd, said, "The partnership as an effort to align logistics practices with environmental goals in the battery manufacturing sector. The collaboration focuses on optimizing logistics while addressing emission reduction objectives."
Mr. Avik Roy, Managing Director and CEO of Exide Industries Ltd, highlighted the company’s focus on sustainability and stated that integrating LNG-powered trucks is part of its broader environmental strategy.
GreenLine Mobility currently operates a fleet of over 500 LNG-powered trucks and plans to expand by adding 1,000 more vehicles by March 2025. This expansion is designed to meet the increasing demand for environmentally responsible logistics solutions.
