Hankook Launches iON HT Tire for E- Light-Duty Trucks

Tennessee, USA- Hankook Tire America Corp. a tiremaker has introduced the latest addition to its EV-focused iON product lineup the iON HT, a highway-terrain tire specifically engineered for electric light-duty trucks. Designed with the unique needs of electric vehicles in mind, the iON HT offers all-season performance, reduced rolling resistance, enhanced durability, and exceptional ride comfort.

Built with an “XL” load rating, the iON HT delivers added strength and rigidity to handle the combined weight of heavy battery packs and everyday cargo a crucial feature for EV trucks and utility vehicles.

The iON HT brings together several cutting-edge technologies aimed at maximizing EV performance:

Roll Lite Compound and Opti Cure Technology minimize internal friction and optimize curing conditions, helping reduce rolling resistance and improve battery efficiency.
ProDurable Compound paired with Opti Tread Technology distributes road pressure evenly, significantly improving wear resistance and achieving an impressive tread life of up to 80,000 miles — among the best in its class.
3D-Embossed Sipes and flared shoulder grooves ensure confident grip and water dispersion for superior all-season traction, especially in wet conditions.
Aggressive shoulder blocks and iON Clad construction offer robust protection against external impacts while maintaining a smooth, comfortable ride.

The iON HT will make its first public appearance at the 2025 Electrify Expo, held June 21–22 at the Port of Los Angeles. Visitors can explore Hankook’s latest EV innovations at the Demo District, where the iON HT will be showcased alongside the rest of the iON lineup.

Launching in August 2025, the iON HT will initially be offered in five sizes ranging from 18 to 22 inches, with UTQG ratings of 900/A/A and speed ratings of T or H.

The iON HT joins Hankook's growing EV tire family, which includes all-season, summer, and winter options – reinforcing the brand’s commitment to next-generation mobility solutions.
