HE-VA G-Drill: Precision Seeder for Grass & Crops

Nykobing, Denmark - HE-VA ApS., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has introduced the new G-Drill, a 3m compact disc drill designed as a cost-effective solution for establishing grass, cereals, and cover crops across diverse farming systems. The G-Drill creates a consistent drilling zone, places seed accurately at depth, and leaves a consolidated, weather-resistant finish. It is suitable for use in grassland, stubbles, and prepared seedbeds.

The drill features two rows of 400mm Vector scalloped discs with replaceable coulter boots positioned behind them. Set at a four-degree angle, the coulters form a narrow seed slot, limiting surface disturbance while ensuring precise seed placement. The close disc spacing reduces wear and increases durability in abrasive conditions.

Two configurations are available: a 32-opener model with 9.4cm row spacing for grass reseeding, and a 24-coulter model with 12.5cm spacing suitable for grass or cereal crops. Each disc is mounted on a rubber-damped torsion arm, allowing accurate contour following, consistent drilling depth, and deflection over obstacles while producing a clean, smear-free slot with good tilth.

Depth control and consolidation are handled by a 450/500mm Star Ring roller, with a 600mm flat roller offered as an alternative. A hydraulic weight transfer and downforce system improves coulter penetration in grassland or stubble. Optional features include Shattaboard levelling paddles for prepared seedbeds or grassland and a following harrow for improved seed coverage.

Seed metering is managed by the Stocks Ag Turbo Jet system, with a standard 400-litre plastic hopper or optional 1,000-litre metal hopper. Airflow is supplied by twin 12V electric fans, with a hydraulic fan option for cereals and pulses. Rate control is provided via a 4.3-inch i-con touchscreen, with forward-speed metering, variable-rate capability, and Isobus compatibility.
