New Delhi-Hero MotoCorp Limited, the motorcycle and scooter manufacturer to expand global manufacturing footprint and plans to start Brazil operations Q4 FY25
In May of this year, the company announced its plan to establish a new wholly owned subsidiary in Brazil dedicated to the manufacturing and distribution of two-wheelers, along with related parts and accessories. The Brazilian entity is expected to be named 'Hero MotoCorp do Brasil Ltd.' the investment in this venture will be implemented in phases.
Hero MotoCorp's exports growing fast, with 73,731 units in April to July, a 33% increase from last year. This includes 62,199 motorcycles (up 35%) and 11,532 scooters (up 21%). The company has four assembly plants abroad— in Bangladesh, Colombia, Nepal, and the Philippines— and is planning to add a fifth one in Brazil.
In January 2024, Hero MotoCorp introduced its inaugural flex-fuel motorcycle prototypes in Brazil, a market known for its ethanol support. The reveal occurred at the second Hero World event at the Centre for Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur. The showcased models were the ethanol-powered Hero HF Deluxe, Splendor Plus, and Glamour.
