Fort Wayne, Indiana – Hilltip., a snow and ice control equipment manufacturer, has introduced its latest stainless steel salt spreaders for the North American market: the IceStriker 4500 and 5500 SSA/SSC. Built for durability, efficiency, and intelligent operation, the new models aim to meet the needs of municipalities, contractors, and commercial snow removal fleets.
The IceStriker 4500 offers a 4.5-cubic-yard hopper capacity, while the larger IceStriker 5500 provides 5.5 cubic yards. Designed for trucks with a GVWR of 15,000 lbs or more, both models come in two configurations: the SSA with a 6-inch stainless steel auger and the SSC with a 14-inch pintle chain system.
Hilltip’s HTrack system allows operators to monitor vehicle location, speed, and material usage in real time. Remote adjustments help improve efficiency and accountability across operations.
Equipped with the StrikeSmart PLUS controller and TempStriker sensor, the IceStriker units automatically analyze live weather and surface conditions to recommend and apply optimal spreading rates and materials.
Both spreaders support 12V and 24V dual motors and include a flip-up chute, vibrator, and inverted V as standard. Optional upgrades include LED work lights, strobe and brake lights, and a tarp kit.
With a new manufacturing facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Hilltip aims to provide faster delivery and enhanced support for American customers. Drawing on decades of European engineering experience from Finland, Hilltip brings proven technology to the North American winter maintenance market.
