Tokyo, Japan- Hitachi Astemo, Ltd., a supplier of automotive, transportation, and industrial machinery parts through its Electric, Chassis & ICE, and Motorcycle divisions, will change its company name to "Astemo, Ltd." effective April 1, 2025. Building on the accumulated achievements under the Hitachi name, Astemo aims to further strengthen the brand and become a leading company in electrification and intelligence of mobility in the SDV age. To implement the change, a “partial amendment to the articles of incorporation” is scheduled to be submitted to the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in March 2025.
Since its 2021 integration, Astemo has grown into a mega-supplier in the CASE domain. In October 2023, its capital structure changed, making it an affiliate of Hitachi and Honda, with JIC Capital joining as a shareholder. This shift aims to boost investment in electrification, ADAS, autonomous driving, and advanced chassis.
Astemo has defined its MISSION, VISION, and VALUES to unify its global philosophy and drive cohesive growth. The name "Astemo" reflects its commitment to advanced, sustainable mobility. To strengthen its position, the company will rename group companies and relocate its head office to Tokyo on April 1, 2025. With this new start as Astemo, Ltd., it aims to lead in electrification and intelligent mobility in the SDV era.
