Tokyo, Japan - Hitachi Ltd., a construction machinery manufacturer, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Forsee Power., a battery systems provider, to support the electrification of heavy-duty equipment used in mining, rail and construction applications.

The partnership is aimed at accelerating Hitachi’s transition toward lower-emission machinery by combining Forsee Power’s battery technology and global aftermarket capabilities with Hitachi’s expertise in electrical systems.

Under the agreement, the companies will work together on hybrid and full-battery solutions for demanding off-highway applications. They also plan to collaborate on aftersales support across key international markets.

Mr. Frederic Poupeau, vice president of Asia-Pacific at Forsee Power, said, “By combining our battery expertise and global aftermarket footprint with Hitachi’s recognized electrical systems know-how, we aim to accelerate the deployment of hybrid and full-battery solutions for demanding applications.”
