Tokyo, Japan - Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd., a construction machinery manufacturer, has invested USD 3 million in Rithmik Solutions Ltd., a Canadian based company to leverage its AI analysis technology for mining solutions that enhance productivity and reduce environmental impact.
Modern mining operations require balancing resource extraction, safety, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability. To support this, Hitachi Construction Machinery launched LANDCROS Connect Insight in April 2025, enabling near real-time operational data analysis.
Rithmik specializes in AI-driven asset health management and operational data analysis. In tests from August 2024 to July 2025, it analyzed data from 40 dump trucks and six ultra-large hydraulic excavators. Early detection of machine anomalies enabled predictive maintenance, reducing downtime, fuel use, and environmental impact.
Hitachi plans to integrate Rithmik’s AI into platforms like LANDCROS Connect Insight, allowing AI to learn from actual operating conditions and set optimal reference values for each machine, enabling more precise asset and operational management.
Mr. Ross Barichievy, CEO of Rithmik Solutions, said, "By combining HCM’s global presence with Rithmik’s analytics expertise, we aim to deliver unmatched performance, reliability, and sustainability to customers worldwide."
Mr. Eiji Fukunishi, VP and President of Hitachi’s Mining Business Unit, said, "Integrating Rithmik's AI with our insights will provide more flexible solutions and contribute to higher productivity and lower environmental impact at mining sites."
This investment will drive technological innovation, enhance customer support, and expand market reach, advancing Hitachi’s mission to optimize mining operations sustainably.
