Milan, Italy -Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has unveiled its redesigned 2027 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade motorcycle series at EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy. The new range has been developed with a focus on racetrack performance, improved handling, and better riding control. Honda has redesigned approximately 75% of the motorcycle’s components to improve its performance and competitiveness on the track.
The 2027 range includes three variants: the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, and the newly introduced CBR1000RR-R Fireblade HRC Works Edition. The Fireblade SP comes with electronically controlled Öhlins suspension. The HRC Works Edition has been developed as a homologation model for the FIM Superbike World Championship (WSBK). It also features special front winglets to improve aerodynamics and cornering performance. Honda has designed this version to meet road-use regulations in individual markets.
Honda has redesigned the aluminium frame to improve stability, cornering, and handling. The new frame reduces lateral rigidity by 20% while maintaining torsional rigidity. It is also 440g lighter than the previous model. The redesigned swingarm reduces lateral rigidity by 12%, helping the rear tyre maintain better contact with the road during cornering.
The suspension systems have also been updated to improve performance on both racetracks and public roads. The standard Fireblade uses SHOWA front and rear suspension. The Fireblade SP features electronically controlled Öhlins NXP Smart-EC3.0 front suspension and TTX36 Smart-EC3.0 rear suspension. These systems are designed to provide better control and respond more effectively to different road surfaces.
The new series also features a titanium fuel tank to reduce weight. The Fireblade SP gets an exclusive hand-finished design that leaves parts of the titanium surface visible, giving it a distinctive appearance. Honda has also added a new silver-and-black Wing emblem to both sides of the fuel tank. Overall, the redesigned 2027 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade series brings improvements in frame design, suspension, weight reduction, and racing-focused technology.
