Gurugram - Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), an automotive manufacturer, has introduced an Assured Buyback Program for the CRETA Electric, guaranteeing customers 60% of the vehicle’s value for up to three years or 45,000 km. The initiative aims to reduce concerns over EV resale value while making electric mobility more accessible, convenient and reassuring for buyers.

Mr. Tarun Garg, MD & CEO, HMIL, said “The next phase of electric vehicle adoption in India will be driven equally by advancements in vehicle technology and by greater customer confidence. Hyundai CRETA Electric has been engineered to deliver an exceptional ownership experience backed by Hyundai’s global EV expertise and the trust of the iconic CRETA brand. Our Assured Buyback Program, offering 60% assured buyback value, reflects our confidence in the product’s outstanding quality, reliability and long-term value. Together with our Battery-as-a-Service initiative, expanding charging infrastructure and future EV roadmap, we are building one of India’s most comprehensive EV ecosystems, enabling customers to embrace electric mobility without compromising on convenience, confidence or peace of mind.”

As India’s electric-vehicle market enters its next growth phase, customer confidence in long-term ownership is becoming as important as vehicle technology. Although improvements in range, charging infrastructure and connected features are supporting EV adoption, concerns over resale value continue to influence purchase decisions. Hyundai Motor India’s Assured Buyback Program addresses this issue by offering greater certainty, financial assurance and peace of mind throughout the ownership period.

The programme forms part of Hyundai’s broader electric-mobility ecosystem, which includes flexible ownership solutions, connected digital services, an expanding charging network and a growing portfolio of electric vehicles. Together, these initiatives are designed to deliver a complete EV ownership experience rather than focusing only on vehicle performance and technology.

The Hyundai CRETA Electric combines the established strengths of the CRETA brand with advanced electric capabilities. It offers an ARAI-certified range of up to 510 km with the 51.4 kWh battery and 420 km with the 42 kWh battery. DC fast charging enables the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 39 minutes. Key features include Vehicle-to-Load functionality, Digital Key, Level 2 ADAS, side steps and acceleration from 0–100 km/h in 7.9 seconds in the long-range version.

To improve affordability, Hyundai has also introduced a Battery-as-a-Service model for the CRETA Electric, with the vehicle starting at ₹10.99 lakh and battery payments beginning at ₹3.90 per kilometre. This model reduces the initial purchase cost and allows customers to pay for battery usage according to their driving requirements.

Hyundai is also expanding charging accessibility across India. The myHyundai app provides access to more than 30,000 charging points, while the company has established 183 DC fast-charging stations across 105 cities. Hyundai plans to increase this network to 600 stations by 2030 across major cities, highways and dealerships.

Through assured resale value, flexible ownership models, wider charging access and future EV launches, Hyundai aims to build greater customer trust and strengthen its position in India’s electric-mobility market.
