Offenbach, Germany - Hyundai Motor Europe has introduced the IONIQ 3 as a fresh interpretation of electric mobility, bringing together bold exterior styling, a warm and highly customisable interior, and advanced connected technology. Developed around real everyday driving needs, the fully electric compact hatchback extends the progressive identity of the IONIQ brand to a wider customer base.
How does the IONIQ 3 cabin create a living-space feel?
Inside, the IONIQ 3 reflects a clean and well-organised design approach. Softly shaped interior surfaces follow the natural character of the materials, improving comfort and enhancing the sense of quality. This creates a calm cabin environment where functional elements such as the air vents and central display are clearly positioned and easy to use.
The cabin follows Hyundai’s “Furnished Space” concept, where key interior elements are arranged more like home furniture than traditional vehicle components. A range of interior colour combinations allows customers to choose different cabin moods, from bright and open to more refined and cocoon-like.
Overall, the interior is designed to feel closer to a living space than a conventional cockpit. Soft textiles, warm tones, and balanced colour choices create a welcoming and tactile atmosphere, giving the IONIQ 3 a more comfortable and personal character.
Why is PLEOS Connect important for Hyundai in Europe?
The IONIQ 3 becomes the first Hyundai model in Europe to feature PLEOS Connect, Hyundai’s next-generation infotainment system. It offers a modern, smartphone-like interface and supports expandable features through integrated apps, making the in-car experience more intuitive and connected.
Built on Android Automotive OS, PLEOS Connect allows Hyundai to maintain control over the user experience, system integration, and brand environment while offering customers a familiar and seamless digital interface.
The system includes a large central display, available in either 12.9-inch or 14.6-inch sizes depending on the variant, along with an available slim driver-focused display that keeps key driving information clearly visible. This layout helps reduce distraction while maintaining a clean and easy-to-use cabin interface.
PLEOS Connect also introduces the PLEOS App Market, creating a controlled ecosystem for third-party apps and service providers. At launch, the system will support around ten content apps covering music, entertainment, and productivity, with more than 30 apps expected by the end of the year.
