Pune - HD Construction Equipment Co., Ltd., a construction equipment manufacturer, has partnered with Trimble Inc., to offer civil construction contractors an upgrade path from Hyundai’s 2D grade control system to the Trimble Earthworks 3D grade control platform on select Hyundai excavator models.
The aftermarket upgrade allows Hyundai customers to access advanced Trimble Earthworks 3D capabilities, including autos functionality. In autos mode, the operator controls the stick while Trimble Earthworks automatically manages the boom and bucket to maintain grade. This helps reduce overcut, improve accuracy, and increase jobsite productivity.
Trimble Earthworks 3D is designed to be intuitive and easy to use, helping operators create smooth, flat, or sloped surfaces with greater consistency. The system supports contractors working on more complex grading projects where higher precision and faster completion are required.
Mr. Scott Crozier, vice president of civil construction at Trimble, said, “Many contractors begin with 2D machine control for simpler depth and slope requirements, but upgrading to 3D becomes a natural next step as project demands grow. He added that Hyundai customers using 2D systems on select models can now upgrade to Trimble Earthworks 3D quickly through the Trimble dealer network.”
The latest Hyundai next-generation excavators equipped with factory 2D grade control also include virtual fence and payload capabilities. These features will continue to operate even after the system is upgraded to Trimble Earthworks 3D.
Mr. Joe Hodges, North American excavator product manager at Hyundai, said, “The upgrade supports customers who need advanced technology to work more precisely and profitably. Hyundai also plans to showcase these technology enhancements at its training center in Carnesville, Georgia, and at regional events.”
