Gyeonggi-do, South Korea- Hyundai Transys., a supply its developed integrated electric vehicle drive system (EDS) has signed a contract with Ceer Motor., an EV manufacturer in Saudi Arabian, to supply its developed integrated electric vehicle drive system (EDS) worth KRW 3 trillion at the Hyundai Transys headquarters.

The signing ceremony was attended by key executives, including Hyundai Transys CEO Mr. Steve Yeo, Ceer CEO Mr. James DeLuca, Ceer Chief Purchasing Officer (CPO) Mr. Johnny Saldanha and Ceer Chief Technical Officer (CTO) Mr. Markus Leitner.

Ceer, an EV manufacturer established by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), utilizes Hyundai Transys's integrated EDS. This three-in-one system includes a motor to drive the EV, an inverter to control the motor's torque, and a reduction gear to convert and transmit power into the necessary torque and speed for the vehicle.

EDS, made of separate motors, inverters, and reduction gears, suffer from power loss and space limitations. Hyundai Transys’s integrated EDS reduces size and weight, enhancing power efficiency, ease of design, and cost competitiveness for EVs. This contract is Hyundai Transys's first EDS supply to a automaker, showcasing its 30+ years of powertrain expertise now recognized in the global market for ICE, hybrid, and battery EVs.

Hyundai Transys is producing a full range of transmissions for internal combustion engines, including automatic, manual, dual-clutch, and continuously variable. It is also a future mobility firm, producing key electrification components like hybrid drive systems, EV reduction gears, and integrated EDSs.

Mr. Steve Yeo, CEO of Hyundai Transys, said, “Based on our unrivaled technological prowess in powertrain technology, we will further accelerate the expansion of oumr electrification component business, such as hybrid electric vehicle drive systems and integrated EDSs, in the global market.”
