Hyundai Unveils All-New NEXO FCEV with Bold Design & Advanced Tech

Seoul, South Korea- Hyundai Motor Company has introduced the all-new NEXO fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) at its global launch event at the Seoul Mobility Show, marking a significant milestone in hydrogen mobility. This cutting-edge mid-size SUV combines flexibility, efficiency, and safety, making it an exciting choice for early FCEV adopters.

NEXO, a fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) that highlights its 27 years of expertise in hydrogen mobility. Offering a 700+ km driving range with a five-minute charge and zero tailpipe emissions, the NEXO combines efficiency, safety, and innovation.

Inspired by Hyundai’s INITIUM concept, the NEXO features bold lines, a rugged structure, and distinctive HTWO Lamps. It is available in six exterior colors, including Goyo Copper Pearl, reflecting Korean heritage. Inside, the cabin boasts a curved driver display, premium relaxation seats, a vision roof, and sustainable materials like bio-process leather and recycled PET fabric.

The new fuel cell system delivers 110 kW of gross power, while a 150 kW electric motor enhances total output to 190 kW, achieving 0-100 km/h in 7.8 seconds. With a 6.69 kg hydrogen storage capacity and improved aerodynamics, the NEXO ensures efficiency and a refined driving experience with active noise control and e-Handling technology.

Next-gen AI and connectivity elevate the NEXO’s technology suite, including a 12.3-inch dual-display ccNC system, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Bang & Olufsen sound, FCEV Route Planner, and OTA software updates. A Digital Key 2 enables smartphone-based access, while fingerprint authentication enhances security. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality allows power supply for external devices.

Built for top safety ratings, the NEXO features nine airbags, ultra-high-strength steel construction, and ADAS systems such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Highway Driving Assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2. A rear occupant alert system adds further passenger protection.

The all-new NEXO, set for global release later this year, reinforces Hyundai’s commitment to hydrogen mobility under the HTWO brand, expanding FCEV infrastructure and advancing sustainable transportation. Measuring 4,750 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and up to 1,673 mm in height with a roof rack, it offers a spacious interior with up to 1,719 liters of cargo space. Riding on 18- or 19-inch tires, the NEXO delivers a top speed of 179 km/h and a fuel economy of up to 97.8 km/kg.

Available in six exterior colors—Creamy White Pearl, Phantom Black Pearl, Amazon Gray Metallic, Ocean Indigo Matte, Ecotronic Gray Pearl, and Goyo Copper Pearl—the NEXO’s interior comes in three refined options: Serene Gray + Mosi Ivory Two-tone, Dark Teal + Obsidian Black Two-tone, and Obsidian Black Monotone.
