IIT Kanpur has partnered with Zynetic to enhance EV infrastructure in India, focusing on fast chargers and AI integration.
Date: November 15, 2024Kanpur- The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) has signed an MoU with Zynetic Electric Vehicles Charging Private Limited., in the development, operation, and management of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to enhance EV infrastructure in India. This collaboration aims to advance the development of AC and DC fast chargers, supporting India’s transition to a cleaner, sustainable future with cutting-edge EV charging technologies.
With this MoU, IIT Kanpur and Zynetic will combine their strengths in research, academic exchange, and consultancy to tackle pressing challenges in EV charging technology. Their efforts will focus on critical areas such as power electronics, embedded systems, and the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning for predictive maintenance. By leveraging IIT Kanpur’s advanced research capabilities and Zynetic’s industry expertise, this collaboration aims to develop next-generation EV chargers that meet the demands of India’s rapidly growing electric vehicle market with unmatched reliability and efficiency.
Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, said, “The partnership with Zynetic is an example of how academia and industry can work together to develop EV infrastructure and help India achieve its green goals. The government’s ambitious goal of achieving 30% of new private vehicle registrations being EVs by 2030 will require a massive charging ecosystem to cater to 8 crore EVs.
