India - Indian tractor manufacturers achieved a historic milestone in 2025, selling a record 1.23 million units across domestic and international markets. Total sales reached 1,228,525 tractors, marking a 21.9% year-on-year increase and setting a new all-time high for the industry. This performance surpassed the previous record established in 2022 by more than 160,000 units.

The domestic market remained the primary growth engine, with 978,748 tractors sold within India, accounting for nearly 80% of total production. Export shipments also showed strong momentum, reaching 249,777 units, underscoring the growing global demand for Indian-made agricultural equipment.

Mahindra continued to dominate the domestic market, retaining its leadership position with 237,916 tractors sold, translating into a 24.3% market share. Swaraj secured second place with 186,512 units, while Sonalika completed the top three with 126,738 tractors sold.

The industry’s robust performance highlights the strength of India’s agricultural sector and reinforces the country’s position as one of the world’s largest and most competitive manufacturing hubs for agricultural machinery.
