Indofast Energy & Green Tiger Partner to Retrofit 2Ws for EV Revolution

Bangalore- Indofast Swap Energy Private Limited., India’s largest battery-swapping network, has joined hands with Green Tiger Mobility Pvt. Ltd., a leading two-wheeler (2W) retrofit company, to fast-track the nation’s shift to electric mobility. This strategic partnership directly addresses the challenge posed by India’s massive base of over 300 million petrol-powered two-wheelers by offering a smart, affordable, and eco-friendly retrofit solution.

Through this initiative, existing petrol two-wheelers can be converted into electric vehicles using Green Tiger Mobility’s ARAI-approved retrofit kits. Post-conversion, riders gain access to Indofast Energy’s expansive battery-swapping network, effectively eliminating range anxiety and the inconvenience of long charging durations.

The offering is designed as a comprehensive, hassle-free package—covering RTO approvals, insurance, and all regulatory requirements under a fixed cost. Additionally, to ensure affordability, the solution includes a small down payment option with the remainder payable through easy EMIs. The savings from switching to electric fuel can cover the EMI cost, making the vehicle essentially “pay for itself.”

Currently, the retrofit solution is available for 11 of India’s highest-selling scooter models are Hero: Maestro, Pleasure , Honda: Activa, Aviator, Dio, Cliq, Suzuki: Access, Swish, TVS: Jupiter, Wego and Yamaha: Fascino.

The service has already launched in Bangalore and will expand to Delhi NCR by May. A nationwide rollout is planned over the next 12 to 15 months. The initial rollout focuses on quick commerce delivery personnel, offering them a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to petrol vehicles, before scaling to the general market.

With a growing customer base of over 500 retrofitted vehicles in Bangalore, Green Tiger Mobility is well-positioned for scale. Its product range is fully approved by ARAI and registered across major RTOs. The company holds six approved patents and enjoys the backing of esteemed institutions such as ARAI, the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), IIM Bangalore, BITS Pilani, and Bajaj Motors.

On the energy infrastructure side, Indofast Energy a 50:50 joint venture between IndianOil and SUN Mobility operates more than 900 battery swap stations across India. Its robust infrastructure supports a wide range of electric vehicles including e-autos, e-bikes, and e-scooters, catering to both personal and commercial users.
