DURHAM, N.C., USA – IONNA LLC, a high-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging network joint venture founded by major automakers—BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota. has announced a major strategic partnership with Circle K to expand access to high-powered EV charging across the United States. Backed by eight leading global automakers, the collaboration aims to strengthen the country’s EV charging network and improve convenience for electric vehicle users.

The partnership is built on a shared goal of expanding to more than 350 Rechargeries @ Circle K locations across the United States. By combining IONNA’s advanced charging technology and customer-focused experience with Circle K’s extensive national presence, the collaboration aims to strengthen EV charging accessibility at scale. As part of the agreement, IONNA will take over operations at sites within Circle K’s existing U.S. charging network and will upgrade around 85 current charging locations. The company will also speed up the rollout of new charging stations at high-traffic Circle K sites that do not yet offer EV charging. The first Rechargeries @ Circle K are expected to open by the end of 2026, with broader expansion planned for 2027.

Mr. Aaron Wolff, COO of IONNA, said “We are honored that Circle K has recognized IONNA as a leader in the industry and entrusted us to serve their customers with the same care and commitment to excellence that they show now, Circle K’s scale, customer focus, and quality of location make them an ideal partner as we rapidly expand high-power charging where drivers already want to stop.”

With over 7,300 stores across the United States, Circle K is widely recognized for its strong value proposition, quality offerings, and quick, customer-friendly service. Its locations feature modern stores and well-maintained forecourts, while customers can choose from a broad range of snacks, fresh grab-and-go meals, packaged and fountain beverages, everyday convenience essentials, and car wash services at selected sites.

Mr. Håkon Stiksrud, VP of Global eMobility at Circle K, said “At Circle K, our ambition is to make EV charging as easy and convenient as possible for our customers, partnering with IONNA enables us to scale high-power charging quickly at locations drivers already trust—combining fast, reliable charging with a great food and beverage experience. This partnership is an important step in preparing for the future, delivering not just charging, but a complete retail experience that supports our customers on the go.”

Through this partnership, Rechargeries @ Circle K will offer drivers a convenient place to recharge both their vehicles and themselves during their journey. IONNA will provide high-power charging of up to 400 kW, along with both NACS and CCS connector access, while Circle K will complement the experience with popular road-trip essentials and convenience offerings. The collaboration also supports IONNA’s broader goal of deploying 30,000 high-power charging bays by 2030.
