Turin-Italy- Iveco Bus is a brand of Iveco Group N.V., an automotive manufacturer, has confirmed a major order from Belgian Flemish public transport operator Vlaamse Vervoersmaatschappij De Lijn for 100 new articulated E-WAY electric buses. This latest acquisition forms part of the existing framework agreement signed in 2023 and builds on the ongoing delivery of 141 E-WAY 18-meter e-buses already underway.

Scheduled for delivery starting in the last quarter of 2026, these 100% electric buses reflect De Lijn’s strong commitment to offering safe, reliable, and zero-emission public transport across Flanders by 2035.

The new vehicles will feature state-of-the-art safety technology, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as blind spot detection, intelligent speed adaptation, front collision warning, driver drowsiness detection, and tire pressure monitoring. Passenger and driver safety will be further enhanced through the integration of rearview cameras, video surveillance, and onboard information screens. Each bus will accommodate 41 seated passengers, ensuring comfort alongside sustainability.

Ms. Ann Schoubs, Director-General, said, “Articulated buses represent a significant part of our entire fleet. This order is therefore very important to us. As with all our future e-buses, they will be fitted with USB charging points, an electric ramp for less mobile passengers, improved ventilation and heating, and extra-wide screens with real-time stop information.”

Mr. Giorgio Zino, Head of Commercial Operations at IVECO BUS Europe, said, "We are extremely proud of the renewed trust from De Lijn, which represents a major recognition for our brand. We warmly thank them for their support of our E-WAY 18-meter model. With this order, IVECO BUS will have its largest fleet of articulated electric buses in Belgium. It is an honor to support De Lijn in their mission to make transportation even more attractive and emission-free."
