Turin, Italy- Iveco S.p.A., an Italian transport vehicle manufacturing, has been chosen by Rápido Sumaré., a Belarmino Group company, and transport conglomerates São Paulo in Brazil, to renew its urban transport fleet.

Rápido Sumaré has received its first 55 units with the 17-280 chassis as part of a fleet renewal, with 18 more to be delivered this year. This confirms the competitive performance of the IVECO BUS chassis produced in Brazil.

Mr. Danilo Fetzner, IVECO BUS’ Vice President for Latin America, said “Being chosen by a group such as Rápido Sumaré confirms that we are on the track to increase our presence in the Brazilian urban market. We are ready to meet the demand of important customers such as the Belarmino Group, offering competitive solutions and products that are attentive to needs.”

The 17-280 chassis, designed for maximum economy, features the FPT Industrial N67 Euro 6 engine, reducing maintenance and fuel costs. Produced in Sete Lagoas, it meets the needs of Brazilian operators, accommodating up to 59 passengers. Vehicles with the 17-280 chassis, bodied by Mascarello, debut the new public transport identity in Piracicaba, inspired by the colors of the city’s flag.
