Sao Paulo, Brazil - Maquinas Agricolas Jacto., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, will present its new Arbus 4000 JAV autonomous orchard sprayer at the upcoming Agrishow. The machine, already tested on citrus farms in Brazil, is now commercially available.
According to Jacto, the sprayer has completed more than 16,000 working hours and covered nearly 60,000 hectares during field validation. The company says the machine now meets international farming technical standards, with a strong focus on work safety and accident prevention.
Designed initially for citrus crops, the Arbus 4000 JAV can operate without an onboard driver, requiring only remote supervision and control. This reduces operator exposure to fatigue and field risks.
The sprayer also includes a convoy feature, allowing one operator to control up to four machines at the same time. Jacto says this can improve productivity by up to 300% per operator. With 24-hour operation, the machine can deliver up to 30% higher efficiency than traditional citrus sprayers and cover more than 1,000 hectares per month under well-adjusted conditions.
The Arbus 4000 JAV uses up to six fans in its tower spraying system, enabling variable application at different plant heights and helping reduce input use. Its laser sensor scans crop rows, identifies plant positions and adjusts spraying to the target area.
The machine’s intelligence system connects electronic components, telemetry and artificial intelligence to coordinate operations in real time. It can create a virtual projection of plants, estimate canopy size and spacing, and keep the sprayer centred between crop rows.
Operational and crop data from the sprayers is shared through Jacto Connect, allowing managers to monitor the full spraying operation and make informed adjustments.
