Haryana- JBM Auto Limited., continues to strengthen its leadership in India’s electric mobility sector. In a significant development, its subsidiary, JBM Ecolife Mobility Private Limited, has secured a major contract under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme (Tender-II) for deploying 1,021 electric buses and developing the necessary electric and civil infrastructure. This contract, valued at approximately INR. 5,500 crore, further reinforces JBM Auto’s commitment to transforming urban transportation.
The prestigious tender was awarded by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), with JBM Auto receiving the Letter of Confirmation of Quantities eligible for award on February 18, 2025. The project follows a Gross Cost Contracting (GCC) model, ensuring end-to-end execution, including vehicle supply, infrastructure development, and operational support. A crucial aspect of this initiative is the Payment Security Mechanism (PSM), which guarantees timely payments to operators and enhances financial viability for all stakeholders.
JBM’s 1,021 electric buses will be deployed across 19 cities in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Haryana, supporting the Indian government’s vision of sustainable public transportation and reduced urban carbon footprints. By integrating advanced e-mobility solutions, JBM aims to enhance public transport networks, making them cleaner, more efficient, and environmentally friendly.
This deployment will significantly contribute to environmental sustainability. Over the next 12 years, these electric buses are projected to clock over 32 billion passenger e-kilometers, reducing more than 1 billion kilograms of CO2 emissions. This milestone aligns with JBM’s broader mission of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040.
With this latest contract, JBM Auto’s electric bus order book now exceeds 11,000 units in various stages of execution. This achievement underscores the company’s strong market position and unwavering commitment to India’s clean energy transition.
