New Delhi- JBM Electric Vehicles (P) Ltd. (JBMEV), an electric bus manufacturer and integrated EV ecosystem solutions provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with electric commercial vehicle leasing platform Drivn to supply 500 advanced electric luxury buses.
The partnership represents another major step towards expanding green public mobility in India and supports JBM’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2040.
Under the agreement, JBM Electric Vehicles will deliver 500 electric buses equipped with advanced technologies and passenger-focused features designed to provide safe, comfortable and environmentally sustainable transportation.
The buses will be deployed in phases over the next year. The initial rollout will focus on luxury electric intercity coaches operated by fleet companies across India.
The deployment will be supported by an integrated business model covering long-term vehicle financing, maintenance services and charging infrastructure. This approach will allow fleet operators to adopt electric buses without making significant upfront capital investments, while simplifying vehicle ownership, maintenance and lifecycle management.
JBM Electric Vehicles and Drivn will also explore opportunities to introduce electric buses in other commercial transportation segments, including school transportation, employee mobility and airport transit services.
Mr. Nishant Arya, Chairman of JBM Electric Vehicles, said India recorded approximately 2,944 electric bus registrations during the first half of 2026, representing growth of around 40%. The registrations were supported by government programmes such as PM E-Bus Sewa and PM E-Drive.
He stated that the partnership combines JBM’s electric bus technology and EV ecosystem capabilities with Drivn’s leasing and financing platform. The collaboration is expected to address capital-related barriers and make electric mobility adoption more scalable and financially viable for fleet operators and corporate customers.
Arya added that the agreement reinforces JBM’s commitment to developing a future-ready, zero-emission mobility ecosystem and supporting India’s wider decarbonisation objectives.
Ms. Alpna Jain, Co-founder and Chief Business Officer of Drivn, said commercial fleet electrification requires an ecosystem that makes the transition both operationally seamless and financially sustainable.
She explained that the partnership combines JBM’s manufacturing expertise, technology leadership and integrated EV solutions with Drivn’s leasing model. Through financing, charging infrastructure and fleet-support services, the companies aim to provide operators with a scalable and accessible pathway for adopting electric commercial vehicles.
The collaboration between JBM Electric Vehicles and Drivn reflects the growing momentum behind electric commercial vehicle adoption in India. By combining electric bus technology with flexible financing and integrated fleet solutions, the partnership aims to make cleaner and more efficient transportation accessible to a wider range of fleet operators.
