Ahmedabad, July 9: Jindal Mobilitric Private Limited, a subsidiary of Jindal Worldwide Limited (JWL), has announced its entry into the electric vehicle market with the unveiling of its first EV model, offering a segment-leading range of 165 km on a single charge. The company has submitted the vehicle for homologation and is awaiting government approvals to begin distribution.
Once certified, the vehicle will be launched through Jindal Mobilitric’s growing dealer network, which currently comprises 35 dealers across India, with plans to expand to 100 dealerships in the coming year. The EV rollout marks Jindal Worldwide’s strategic diversification into clean mobility, supported by a robust manufacturing and supply chain infrastructure.
Jindal Mobilitric has already established a state-of-the-art production facility in Ahmedabad, capable of manufacturing 2.5 lakh vehicles per annum. Additionally, the company has invested in a fully automated, in-house battery manufacturing unit with the same annual capacity. This move ensures complete control over battery safety, quality, and integration, aimed at enhancing consumer trust and accelerating EV adoption in India.
The company’s recent financial performance also reflects strong momentum. Jindal Worldwide Limited’s consolidated net profit rose by 42.10% to ₹25.01 crore, while net sales grew 52.41% to ₹630.51 crore in Q2 FY22 over Q2 FY21.
