Jaguar Land Rover expands partnership with Tata Communications to enhance connectivity in next-gen vehicles worldwide.

Mumbai - Jaguar Land Rover (JLR)., an automobile company, has expanded partnership with Tata Communications Limited., a telecom company, to enhance connected vehicle ecosystem. The collaboration will integrate Tata Communications MOVETM platform, providing continuous connectivity and advanced data-driven features across JLR's next-generation vehicles in over 120 countries.

The expanded partnership focuses on Jaguar Land Rover's medium-sized SUVs, built on the new Electric Modular Architecture (EMA), set to launch in 2026. These vehicles will utilize the MOVETM platform for seamless mobile network transitions, ensuring uninterrupted access to personalized services like media streaming. The platform will also support software over-the-air (SOTA) updates, secure data exchange, and the deployment of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

JLR’s connected vehicles generate 2.5 terabytes of data daily, with 500,000 electronic control units updated monthly. By using Tata Communications’ technology, JLR aims to improve real-time vehicle monitoring, deliver timely software updates, and reduce maintenance costs. Upcoming vehicles will feature advanced wireless technologies for better tracking, enhanced over-the-air updates, and simplified global connectivity for apps and features.

Mr. Marco Bijvelds, Vice President and Global Head of Tata Communications MOVETM, said, “The partnership would support JLR’s transition to software-defined vehicles. The potential for delivering advanced driving features and personalized customer experiences, creating opportunities for new revenue streams.”

Mr. Mark Brogden, Director of Digital Product Platform Off-Board at JLR, highlighted the partnership's significance, describing it as a key step in JLR’s digital transformation. Brogden noted that the collaboration would enable JLR to deliver secure and cost-effective connectivity solutions, aligning with customer expectations for its luxury vehicle lineup.
