Jinhua, China- Kandi Technologies Group, Inc., a research, development, and manufacturing of all-electric personal transportation and utility vehicles, has announced a new three-year strategic cooperation agreement between its wholly owned subsidiary, China Battery Exchange (Zhejiang) Technology Co., Ltd., and Times Qiji Green Energy Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL).

Under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate on the mass deployment of heavy-truck battery swap stations, including after-sales services, operations, and maintenance support. China Battery Exchange will act as a strategic supplier to Qiji Energy, taking responsibility for solution design, equipment selection, and the manufacturing of mechanical and control systems for battery swap stations. It will also provide integrated delivery and lifecycle services, including spare parts, maintenance, training, trial operations, and warranty-period support.

China Battery Exchange has already been incorporated into CATL’s global supplier ecosystem, and this new partnership further reinforces its technical capabilities and large-scale manufacturing strength. The cooperation also marks a deeper integration of Kandi Technologies into CATL’s rapidly expanding battery swapping ecosystem.

Qiji Energy plays a central role in CATL’s “Ten Thousand Station Plan,” which aims to deploy approximately 900 standardized battery swap stations by 2026. Through this collaboration, China Battery Exchange will support the large-scale rollout of the “Qiji Battery Swap” network. By combining CATL’s strengths in battery technology, branding, network reach, and digital station management with China Battery Exchange’s expertise in R&D and equipment manufacturing, the partnership seeks to accelerate the efficient and scalable development of battery swap infrastructure.

Mr. Feng Chen, CEO of Kandi Technologies, said the partnership represents a major milestone for the company’s battery swapping business. He highlighted China Battery Exchange’s role as Kandi’s core battery swap platform, focused on delivering intelligent, standardized solutions compatible with multiple vehicle brands and models. He added that the collaboration would help advance battery swapping toward greater standardization, scalability, and long-term sustainability, while enhancing charging efficiency and user experience across the new energy transportation ecosystem.

As an early mover in China’s battery swapping sector, Kandi Technologies has long positioned battery swapping as a key pillar of its long-term strategy. The company expects this strategic cooperation to strengthen its new energy infrastructure service capabilities and support the continued expansion and commercialization of its battery swapping initiatives.
