Pune- India Kawasaki Motors Pvt. Ltd., has launched the updated Z900 in India. The new model brings a host of upgrades to one of the most popular middleweight naked bikes on the market, including refreshed styling, revised electronics, and Euro5+ emission compliance. While the engine and main frame remain unchanged, the updates bring the Z900 in line with modern expectations for tech and performance.

Powering the Z900 is the same creamy-smooth 948cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine, now slightly detuned due to stricter emission norms. It produces 124 PS at 9,500 rpm and 97.4 Nm of torque at 7,700 rpm. Despite the marginal drop in output, the Z900 retains its lively and refined character, offering excellent performance for both daily riding and spirited weekend outings.

The most notable upgrades are in the electronics package. The bike now features a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, revised switchgear borrowed from the Ninja 1000SX, and an updated electronic suite. A ride-by-wire throttle enables new features like cruise control and a bidirectional quickshifter. Riders also benefit from power modes, traction control, riding modes, and dual-channel ABS, all coordinated by a 5-axis IMU.

Styling has also been overhauled, with a new headlight design inspired by the smaller Z500. Kawasaki has redesigned the seat with added cushioning while retaining the same seat height and rider reach, thanks to clever shaping of the frame rails. These changes aim to enhance comfort without compromising ergonomics, something riders will appreciate on longer rides.

Cycle parts have received key improvements. The front braking setup now includes radially mounted 4-piston Nissin calipers paired with 300mm dual discs, replacing the older axial setup. The tyre specification has also been upgraded to Dunlop Sportmax Q5A units, which promise significantly better grip and handling performance over the outgoing Dunlop Roadsport 2 tyres. However, the tyre sizes remain unchanged.

Despite all the updates, the core structure—the trellis frame and engine—remains intact, preserving the balanced handling and responsive performance that made the Z900 a standout in the segment. The updated model weighs in at 213 kg (curb weight) and features a 17-litre fuel tank and 830 mm seat height, offering a confident yet manageable package for most riders.

The 2025 Kawasaki Z900 is available in two striking color options: Metallic Moondust Gray with Metallic Spark Black, and Candy Lime Green Type 3. These finishes complement the bike’s aggressive Sugomi-inspired design language, giving it a premium streetfighter presence.

Overall, the new Z900 delivers the most evolved version yet of Kawasaki’s middleweight supernaked. With its advanced electronics, improved cycle parts, and bold new styling, the 2025 Z900 reaffirms its position as one of the most well-rounded and desirable bikes in the category.
