Florida, USA - Kelly Tractor Co., a dealer for Caterpillar, has delivered the final Caterpillar Centennial Edition machine—a Cat D4 dozer to longtime customer Ryan Inc., a a heavy construction firm, marking a milestone in a partnership that spans generations.
Ryan Inc., a family-owned site development firm founded in 1884, was selected to receive the last centennial unit in Kelly Tractor’s inventory. The delivery is especially meaningful given Ryan Inc.’s deep historical ties to Caterpillar, dating back to the earliest days of mechanized construction when the industry transitioned from horse-drawn equipment to the first Caterpillar tractors.
Mr. Wills Ryan, CEO and owner of Ryan Inc, said, “We’ve been using Caterpillar products since they began making scrapers many decades ago. The company was established by his great-grandfather, P.W. Ryan, who originally built railroad embankments in Wisconsin before the rise of highway construction in the early 20th century.”
As Caterpillar’s equipment evolved, so did Ryan Inc., expanding from the Midwest into Southern Florida in the early 1970s. Since that expansion, Kelly Tractor Co. has served as Ryan Inc.’s trusted Caterpillar dealer in the region.
Caterpillar introduced its limited Centennial Edition series earlier this year to commemorate 100 years of Cat machines. As the authorized Cat dealer for South Florida, Kelly Tractor Co. secured a select number of these commemorative units for key customers. Ryan Inc. was chosen to receive the final unit—a Cat D4—underscoring the strength and longevity of the relationship between the two companies.
The battleship grey Centennial D4 will be deployed on a major change order for a district project in Southern Florida, where it will help prepare a site for one of the largest pump installations in the region.
The Centennial D4 now joins Ryan Inc.’s active fleet, which includes hundreds of Caterpillar machines, continuing a partnership that has helped shape the company’s success for decades.
